WapakonetaDorothy M. Hittepole died at 10:34 a.m. March 28, 2012, at her residence.She was born in Botkins to Joseph and Clara Freistuhler Werling, who preceded her in death. On Feb. 17, 1947, she married Chester E. Hittepole Sr., who died Nov. 21, 2011.Mrs. Hittepole was a homemaker and had worked at Zofkie's Clothing Store, Wapakoneta. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wapakoneta. She was a member of Knights of Columbus Council 1272 Auxiliary, Wapakoneta. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.Survivors include two children, Chester E. Hittepole Jr. and Sharon Shoup, both of Wapakoneta; three grandchildren, Scott Hittepole, Bridget Hittepole and Staci (Jarrod) Neidemire; two great-grandchildren, Alex Shoup and Jacob Neidemire; a brother, Carl Werling, of Wapakoneta; and a sister, Irene Metzger, of Wapakoneta.She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, David Shoup; a grandson, Shane (Mandy) Shoup; and two sisters, Rose Mary Dilsaver and Esther McDonald.Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 1:30 p.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wapakoneta. The Rev. Patrick Sloneker will officiate.
