LIMA



Virginia E. Beilharz, 88, of Dublin, formerly of Lima, died at 12:20 a.m. April 5, 2008, at her residence from complications of a stroke.



She was born Feb. 2, 1920, in Spencerville to Frank and Goldie Bennett Bowers, who preceded her in death. On Feb. 7, 1943, she married Earl J. Beilharz, who died June 23, 2006. They were married for 63 years.



Mrs. Beilharz was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. She was active in the Philanthropic Education Organization, a program of continuing education which awards need-based grants to women for educational expenses. She was a graduate of Lima South High School. She lived most of her life in Lima. Following her husband's death, she moved to Dublin to be with her daughter. She will be remembered for her complete dedication to her family, her sorority and her church. She leaves behind many friends who will continue to cherish her spirit, compassion and the generous support she provided in times of their need.



Survivors include a daughter, Terri B. (Peter) Wilkinson, of Dublin; five grandchildren, Jeremy Beilharz, of Columbus, Monica Beilharz, of Stuart, Fla., Scott Wilkinson, of Phoenix, Sean (Kate) Wilkinson, of Newport Coast, Calif., and Shannon (Chris) Diffley, of Bexley; three great-grandchildren, Mia Diffley, Tyler Diffley and Charlie Wilkinson; a daughter-in-law, Joyce Beilharz, of Columbus; and a niece, Ann Beilharz, of Lima.



She was preceded in death by a son, Dr. Jay E. Beilharz.



Services will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at Chiles-Laman Funeral Homes, Shawnee Chapel. Pastor Michael Phillips will officiate. Burial of the cremains will be at a later date in Memorial Park Cemetery.



In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the PEO, 2140 Wingate Drive, Delaware, OH 43015.
