LIMA â?? William â??Billâ?ť West, 70, died at 7:30 a.m. June 21, 2013, at Ohio State University Hospital, Columbus.

He was born on March 10, 1943, in Middlesboro, Ky., to William C. and Mary R. Wagner West, who preceded him in death. On July 5, 1974, he married Jane Murphy, who survives in Lima.

Mr. West was in the first graduating class of Perry High School in 1961, where he was a member of his high school basketball team, winning the Northwest Conference Championship with a record record of 10-0. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He was an owner/operator truck driver for Allied Van Lines and Laneâ??s Moving and Storage for more than 50 years, until retiring in 2011. He loved horses, enjoyed old Western movies and listening to Southern gospel music.
