WAPAKONETA — Doyle R. “Butch” Yost, 75, died at 10:48 a.m. Nov. 8, 2012, at his residence.
He was born April 24, 1937, in Stillwater, Pa., to Frank D. and Lois B. Hess Yost, who preceded him in death. He was married to Elizabeth A. Miller Scott for 23 years, and she survives in Wapakoneta.
Survivors also include a son, Jeff (Rhonda) Yost, of Cridersville; a daughter, Diane (Gerald) Miller, of Wapakoneta; four grandchildren, Angela, Jeffrey, Elizabeth and Catherine; two great-grandsons, Aaron and Gabriel; a brother, Frank Yost; and a sister, Laura Gierhart.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Don Yost; and a sister, Betty Chesbrough.
Doyle was a 1955 graduate of Blume High School. He worked at Provico in Botkins and Ametek in Wapakoneta. He was one of the pioneers in the widespread production of nylon through Ametek. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 691. He was an avid bowler and especially loved fishing. He was always a dedicated and faithful Christian.
Memorial services are scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. Monday at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Wapakoneta. Friends may call from 5 p.m. until the time of the service Monday at the funeral home.
