JOHN S. SANDERS, 66, died at 5:50 p.m. Feb. 5, 2005, at his residence.
He was born Jan. 3, 1939, in Akron to Horace F. and Dorothy Sanders. His mother survives in Akron. On Dec. 24, 1973, he married Shirley Baumgardner, who died Jan. 30, 2003.
Mr. Sanders was a salesman for Ohio Bridge Company for 32 years. He was a life member and past exalted ruler of Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge 54, Lima. He was a member of Oaks Golf Course and was a passionate golfer. He was an Air Force veteran.
Survivors include a son, Thomas Lloyd Sanders (Tim Gershman) of Santa Ana, Calif.; a stepson, Timothy S. (Charmayne) Davis of Dayton; a daughter, Diana Lynn (Michael) Wiseley of Findlay; two brothers, James F. (Renate) Sanders of Atlanta and Joseph L. (Carol) Sanders of Colleyville, Texas; a sister, Judy (Jim) Fellmeth of Mogadore; and five grandchildren, Ashley, Kristin, J.T., Joshua and Zach.
He was preceded in death by a son, John S. Sanders II.
Services will begin at noon Wednesday at Chiles & Sons-Laman Funeral Homes, Shawnee Chapel. Entombment will be in Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, where an Elks Lodge of Sorrow service will be held at 8 p.m.
