I. ROSS CLUM, 81, died at 11:50 a.m. Nov. 8, 2005, at Lima Memorial Health System.
He was born Aug. 18, 1924, in Allen County to Jesse E. and Jennie Belle Dilts Clum, who preceded him in death. On June 27, 1943, he married Dorothy LaRue, who survives in Ada.
Mr. Clum retired as a farmer and had worked for the Soil Conservation Service of Allen County for 30 years. He was a life member, deacon and elder of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Ada. He was a member of American Legion Post 186, Ada, Disabled American Veterans Chapter 19, Lima, the National Agriculture Research Foundation and the Farm Bureau of Allen County. He was an Army veteran of World War II, where he received the Purple Heart. He was an avid deer hunter, enjoyed woodworking and especially enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Survivors also include two sons, Stanley (Jean) Clum and Steve (Carol) Clum, both of Lafayette; a daughter, Shirley Johnson of Lima; a brother, Charles "Gerald" Clum of Greenville; and 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Lester Clum; and two sisters, Connie Leiber and Vivian Miller.
Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Paul United Church of Christ, Ada. Pastor Thomas Dearth will officiate. Burial will be in St. Paul Cemetery, Ada, with military rites by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9381.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada, and one hour prior to services Friday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the building fund at St. Paul United Church of Christ.
