Coral Springs, FlaE. Jean Garrett Dellinger, 85, died at 6:20 a.m. Jan. 10, 2012, at Boca Raton Regional Hospital, Boca, Fla.She was born Jan. 17, 1926, in Sidney, to Ivan and Mary E. Covault Garrett, who preceded her in death. On Oct. 7, 1972, she married Richard R. Dellinger, who survives in Coral Spring, Fla.Mrs. Dellinger was a graduate of Sidney High School. She worked as a nurse at the Lima Tuberculosis Hospital until its closing, then took a position as a nurse at a family practice in Troy until she married and moved to Toledo and then Florida. She was a former member of Epworth United Methodist Church in Toledo where she and her husband were active in missionary work in Toledo and Africa. She was a devoted animal lover and loved her four Yorkies. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.Survivors include two daughters, Debbe (Craig) Sullivan and Sue (Robert) Holmes, both of Lima; 12 grandchildren, Nicole Brickner, of Spencerville, Natasha Brickner, of Los Angeles, Calif., Nate (Laura) Brickner, of Lima, Jeff (Kim) Holmes, of Lima, Mike (Jenny) Holmes, of Spencerville, Chris (Michelle) Holmes, of Elida, Scott (Dee) Holmes, of Elida, Dr. Timothy Holmes, of Columbus, Beth (Carl) Mazzocca, of Akron, Tina (Brent) Brinkman, of Delphos, Britt (Chris) Schimpf, of Elida, and Brandy (Jay) Hollstien, of Elida; 30 grandchildren; and a brother, Robert (Ann) Garrett, of Sidney.Services will begin at 11 a.m. Monday at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation, Shawnee Chapel. The Rev. David Harris will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Point Cemetery, Pasco.Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.Memorial contributions may be made to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
