Elaine M. Schimmoeller, 61, died at 2:25 p.m. April 17, 2013, at The Meadows of Putnam Acres.

She was born Dec. 18, 1951, in Putnam County to Gilbert and Dorothy Kleman Riepenhoff. Her father is deceased, her mother survives in Miller City. On Jan. 19, 1974, she married Michael Schimmoeller, who survives in Kalida.

Also surviving are two children, Andrew (Denise) Schimmoeller, of South Lyon, Mich., and Julie (Ed) Stanish, of Troy; a grandchild, John “Jack” Schimmoeller, of South Lyon, Mich.; three brothers, Eugene Riepenhoff, Joseph (Becky) Riepenhoff and Gilbert Jr. (Julie) Riepenhoff, all of Ottawa; two sisters, Lois (Marvin) Schroeder, of Ottawa, and Lisa (Michael) O’Doherty, of Herndon, Va.; and several nieces and nephews.

Elaine had been a registered nurse at Calvary Manor Nursing Home, Glandorf, Lima Memorial Hospital, Putnam Acres Care Center, Ottawa, The Meadows of Ottawa-Glandorf, and most recently at St. Rita’s Medical Center. She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, Kalida, its Rosary Altar Society and Catholic Ladies of Columbia.

Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Michael Catholic Church, Kalida. Father Mark Hoying will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Love Funeral Home, Ottawa, where a Rosary Altar and CLC rosary service will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday.
