7 injured in early Sunday crash
Comments 0 | Recommend 0WAPAKONETA - Several people were injured in an early Sunday crash.
Lt. J.S. Carrico, of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, said Lexie S. McDorman, 30, was driving her 1998 Dodge Stratus too fast on Interstate 75 when, at about 1:35 a.m., the vehicle struck the rear of a 2003 Chevrolet Avalanche driven by Charles Walker, 41, of Detroit.
Walker's vehicle rolled several times, troopers said, and five people were ejected while a sixth was trapped inside. McDorman's vehicle went off the left side of the road and caught fire.
The passengers in Walker's vehicle were Leshawna Walker, Alita Martin, 25, Michael Martin, 7, Milethia Martin, 9, and Malisha Dudley, 5.
All seven people were taken to hospitals, several with "life-threatening" injuries.
Troopers said impaired driving and seat belt violations contributed to the seriousness of the crash.
