All four teens deny charges in golf course vandalism
Comments 0 | Recommend 0LIMA - All four teenagers charged as juveniles in a massive vandalism incident at a local golf course have denied charges against them.
The four all entered denials, the equivalent of a not guilty plea, during hearings Monday at Allen County Juvenile Court. Judge Glenn Derryberry allowed all four to be released on electronic home arrest. An adult, Josue Martinez, 18, of Ada, is the fifth person charged in the case.
Aaron Sheldon, 17, of Alger, entered a denial to felony vandalism, as did Ryan Arnett, 17, of Ada and Taylor David Pinks 15, of Ada. Robert Cody Collins, now 18, entered a denial plea to arson and felony vandalism. All had pretrials set for Aug. 19.
The group is charged in the July 1 vandalism at Hawthorne Hills Country Club. Fourteen golf cars were set on fire and numerous others tipped over. Original damage estimates were placed at more than $100,000 but a prosecutor recently said that number might be high.
