Cyberbullying, sexting training offered in Ottawa
February 06, 2012 1:59 PM
OTTAWA
The Putnam County Educational Service Center, through Project SAFE Initiative with cooperation from the Ohio Crime Prevention Association and Putnam County Sheriff's Office, will offer two trainings on cyberbullying, sexting and social media Feb. 22.
Training for school staff members, law enforcement and other youth-serving professionals will be held from noon to 4 p.m. Another session for parents and others will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Both are free and will be at the Putnam County Educational Service Center.
The training will help bridge the gap between adults and youth in addressing sexting, cyberbullying and social media and make participants more confident in their approach to addressing these issues within their own sphere of influence.
The training was developed and provided by the Ohio Crime Prevention Association. For information about the training, go to www.putnamsafestudents.org. To register, call Deb Schroeder at 419-523-5951, ext. 3007, or email to dschroeder@pm.noacsc.org.
