Custom Staffing to locate in downtown Lima
LIMA — Another eyesore will go by the wayside when Custom Staffing moves into its new building downtown later this year.
Custom Staffing bought the old Rite Aid building, 505 W. Market St., at the corner of Market and McDonel streets, agency President Roche Simmons said.
The purchase allows Custom Staffing to move from three rented locations, with separate offices for accounting, human resources and daily operations, in Lima to one the business owns, Simmons said.
“We wanted to be centrally located, and we wanted to be downtown,” Simmons said. “It has lots of visibility, lots of traffic. This will put all of us under one building, with room to grow.”
The building has been vacant since Rite Aid built a new store across the street. The company plans to be in the building and operating by summer. Simmons will renovate inside first and do a basic fix-up outside; he plans a more extensive refurbish on the outside later in the year.
Simmons' company 3 Zero Properties LLC purchased the building in December for $13,500.
Simmons, a 17-year employee with the company, bought the business in 2010. The company began with a two-person staff in 1989. It provides temporary, temp to direct hire and direct hire job placements for employers.
While it is headquartered in Lima, it has offices in Findlay, Bellefontaine, Wapakoneta, Marysville and Delaware, according to the company's website. About a dozen people work for the company in Lima, Simmons said.
