CELINA — Elida dealt a severe blow to the playoff hopes of Celina with a 31-0 victory over Celina at Celina on Friday.

Elida had already been eliminated from the playoffs, but Celina need a win and to get some help to get in.

Elida’s Logan Alexander led the way with 141 yards on 26 carries with two TDs. He had TD runs of 9 and 3 yards. Alexander also completed 17 of 28 for 178 yards.

Clark Etzler had eight receptions for 99 yards.

For Celina, Caleb Hoying completed 6 of 17 for 62 yards.

Elida ends its year 5-5, 4-5 in the Western Buckeye League. Celina is 7-3, 6-3 in the WBL.

[HEAD]Van Wert 41, St. Marys 32

ST. MARYS — Van Wert won its first game of the year with a victory over St. Marys.

Van Wert ends its year 1-9, 1-8 in the WBL. St. Marys goes 0-10, 0-9 in the WBL.

Van Wert’s Justice Tussing pounded out 218 yards on 25 carries with one TD. Van Wert quarterback Colin Smith completed 10 of 13 for 129 yards with three TDs.

Chase Roop rushed for 101 yards on 14 carries for St. Marys.

[HEAD]Wapakoneta 49, Shawnee 13

SHAWNEE TOWNSHIP — Wapakoneta will head to the playoffs with a 9-1 record, 8-1 in the Western Buckeye League after knocking off Shawnee.

Shawnee ends its season 2-8, 2-7 in the WBL.


[HEAD]Marion Local 42, New Bremen 6

MARIA STEIN — Two-time defending state champion Marion Local ended its regular season 10-0 with a rout of New Bremen.

For Marion Local, Aaron Nietfeld ran for 224 yard on 18 carries with three TDs. He had TD runs of 73, 10 and 5 yards.

Troy Homan worked at quarterback for the Flyers and completed 5 of 10 for 64 yards and one TD.

New Bremen ends its year 0-10.

Marion Local won the Midwest Athletic Conference outright at 8-0.

[HEAD]Coldwater 42, Fort Recovery 14

FORT RECOVERY — Coldwater scored three TDs in the first quarter en route to a victory over Fort Recovery.

Coldwater ends up 8-2, 7-1 in the MAC.

Coldwater quarterback Brody Hoying completed 5 of 7 for 114 yards and three TDs. He also ran for two TDs, of 47 and 21 yards and ended up 77 yards rushing.

Fort Recovery ends up 3-7, 1-7 in the MAC.


[HEAD]Allen East 36, Mount Gilead 8

In a non-league game, Allen East’s Ross Stewart pounded away for 367 yards on 35 carries with four TDs to help the Mustangs roll past Mount Gilead.

Stewart had TD runs of 2, 31, 50 and 18 yards.

Allen East ended up 4-6.

[HEAD]Bluffton 23, Columbus Grove 19

COLUMBUS GROVE — Bluffton wrapped up its year with a winning record of 6-4 (4-3 NWC) with a victory over Columbus Grove.

Columbus Grove ends its year 2-8, 1-6 in the NWC.

Bluffton’s Robbie Stratton caught a 17-yard pass from Mitchell Ault with 11:09 to go to pull Bluffton ahead 23-19.

Stratton also had a 48-yard interception return for a TD in the opening quarter.

Ault ended up 9 of 14 for 134 yards and two TDs. Robbie Stratton had four catches for 46 yards and one TD. Noah Stratton ran for 44 yards on 14 carries.

For Columbus Grove, Riley Brubaker had 117 yards on 15 carries with one TD. He also completed 17 of 31 for 210 yards and two TDs.


[HEAD]Perry 12, Ridgemont 0

RIDGEWAY — Perry ended its year with a shutout over Ridgemont. That makes Perry 4-6, 3-3 in the Northwest Central Conference.

Ridgemont ends its year 2-8.

For Perry, Plummie Gardner completed 11 of 28 for 133 yards and one TD. He also ran for 68 yards on 13 carries.

[HEAD]Troy Christian 35, Waynesfield-Goshen 0

TROY — Troy Christian scored 28 points in the second half to pull away from Waynesfield-Goshen.

The Tigers finished 2-8.

Waynesfield’s Drew Lament had 55 yards on 10 carries.

[HEAD]Sidney Lehman 62, Upper Scioto Valley 26

MCGUFFEY — Sidney Lehman led 27-0 after the first quarter and rolled past Upper Scioto Valley.

The Rams end the year 4-6, 2-4 in the NWCC.


[HEAD]Leipsic 26, Pandora-Gilboa 21

PANDORA — Leipsic will roll into the playoffs with a record of 8-2 after knocking off Pandora-Gilboa, which needed to win to reach the playoffs.

For the Vikings, Jordan Chamberlin had 139 yards on 32 carries. Zach Coleman completed 15 of 24 for 214 yards. Nate Brecht had 11 catches for 176 yards.

P-G’s Jacob Basinger had nine carries for 78 yards. Brad Walter had three catches for 142 yards. P-G’s Seth Schmenk completed 15 of 32 for 305 yards.
