LEXINGTON — The Lima Locos scored nine times in the top of first on their way to a 14-0 Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League victory against the Hustlers on Saturday.

The Locos sent 13 hitters to the plate in the first, producing five hits. D.J. Smith doubled twice in the inning with the Locos walking four times. Smith finished the game with two hits and three RBIs.

The Locos also scored once in the second, fifth and ninth innings and twice in the eighth.

Daniel Garner, Dylan Ingram and Tyler Lynn each had two hits and two RBIs. Kyle Lewis contributed two hits, including a home run, and an RBI, Matthew Furoto and Skylar Weber each had a hit and an RBI and Jalen Washington had an RBI. Garner and Ingram each doubled.

Defiance grad Robert Zeigler (four innings), Michael Bonifay (three innings) and Alex Thackston (two innings) combined for the shutout.

The Locos (3-4) will play at 1:35 p.m. Thursday at Cincinnati.
