DAYTON — Lima’s Evan Hall was among those making the field for the Callaway Junior World Golf Championships by finishing third in a qualifier at NCR Country Club on Monday.
Hall, who will be a senior at Bath, shot a 1-over 73, finishing behind Austin Bagshaw (71) of Hillsboro and John Carlisle (72) of Westerville in the boys ages 15-17 division, which drew more than 80 competitors.
Hall’s division in the world championships will play on the Torrey Pines South Course in San Diego starting July 12.
Nomination forms for the 2014 class of the Lima-Allen County Golf Hall of Fame are available at all Allen County golf courses or by calling Dan Arnett at 419-999-2752.
Anyone nominated must have resided in Allen County, been a member of an Allen County golf course or be an entity located in Allen County. The nominees must have distinguised themselves by their accomplishments or by promoting golf.
Nominations must be submitted by Sept. 5. They can be given to any PGA professional at an area course or can by mailed to Lima-Allen County Golf Hall of Fame, 4824 Wenatchi Trail, Lima, Ohio 45805.
Anyone nominated in the last two years does not have to be resubmitted. The new members will be honored with a banquet on Oct. 4 at Hawthorne Hills.

LIMA — Tony Hobensack defeated Steve Creps 4 and 2 to win the senior second flight for ages 60 and older in the
East of Chicago Amateur Championship at Hawthorne Hills on Tuesday.
KALIDA — Christian Nartker (boys 12-13), Joshah Rager (boys 14-15), Grant Ricketts (boys 16-18), Jill Schmitmeyer (girls 15 and under) and Emily Knouff (girls 16-18) won their divisions in the Lima Junior Golf Association - McDonald’s Junior Series Weisenburger Builders Open played at Country Acres Golf Club on Tuesday.
