Mask malfunction sends diver to hospital
Comments 0 | Recommend 0A diver at the Gilboa Quarry needed rescue assistance Saturday morning after her mask began malfunctioning during a dive, the Putnam County Sheriff's Office reported.
Putnam County sheriff's personnel, the Gilboa Fire Department and Leipsic and Pandora emergency medial squads responded to the 11:26 a.m. call for Emily Harrison, 21, of Niles, Mich. Harrison was diving in 22 to 25 feet of water when she began having problems with her mask. She surfaced rapidly and was helped to a nearby deck. She then was flown to Lima Memorial Health System, where she was treated and released. The incident is still under investigation by the Putnam County Sheriff's Office.
