The Putnam County Sheriff's Office is investigating a pair of crashes that happened Thursday night.
According to a news release, the first crash occurred shortly after 8 p.m. Thursday in the 7000 block of Road 21 near Continental. The crash was a one-vehicle rollover involving a 1991 black Chevrolet pickup truck owned by Larry Williams of Continental, the sheriff's office said.
The driver left the scene before emergency personnel could arrive, according to Deputy Mark Doster.
In the second crash, Christopher Bischoff, 17, of Hamler, lost control of his car on an icy patch along state Route 109 south of Road B, northwest of Leipsic. Bischoff's car went off the right side of the road, hit a tree, spun out and ended up partially in a pond, Sgt. Tony Recker said. The crash happened shortly before 10 p.m., he said.
Bischoff was taken to St. Rita's Ambulatory Care Center in Glandorf. His condition was unknown early this morning.
