Power outage affects part of Allen County

LIMA — Several hundred customers of AEP Ohio in Allen County were without power for more than an hour this morning.

According to an outage map provided on the AEP Ohio Web site, 916 customers in Allen County were without power from 7:16 a.m. to 8:40 a.m. The outage affected people in the North West Street area in the northern part of Lima.

The outage impacted 2 percent of the utility company's 45,851 customers in the county, according to the company's Web site.

The outage was caused by equipment failure, said Shelly Clark of AEP Ohio.
