Police arrest three in Market Street murder
Comments 0 | Recommend 0LIMA - Police have made two arrests in the shooting death of Wendy Westergaard, found a vehicle used in the murder and are looking for more suspects.
Police arrested Durelle L. Grant, and Tony D. Curtis Jr. turned himself in to police. Davarus E. Callahan was also taken into custody in the case and is awaiting charges.
Detectives confirmed the case involved drugs and said Westergaard was in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Police are looking for Ronnie Eldevon Irons, 21, for whom an arrest warrant for robbery has been issued.
Grant, 19, previously identified as a passenger in Wetergaard's vehicle, has been charged with robbery. Curtis, 20, has been charged with murder and possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia.
Westergaard, 38, was gunned down April 29 in a drive-by shooting on West Market Street near North Charles Street. Westergaard was westbound when another vehicle pulled alongside and someone opened fire.
A police investigation led to finding a 1996 purple Plymouth Voyager at a used car dealer in Auglaize County. With the vehicle, police were able to determine its occupants at the time of the murder, Lt. Jim Baker said.
