Given the uncertain economic conditions of the present economy, effective Tuesday, Dec. 31, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwestern Ohio is faced with having to close its satellite office in Fulton County.

But be assured that this organization has made a commitment to continue to provide match support and monitoring of all matched relationships that are current in both Fulton and Williams counties to assure the health and well-being of the children in those relationships.

“It has been both challenging and rewarding to provide services to these counties and the children served,” said a press release from the group. “Thank you for helping to make a difference in the lives of children - one child at a time!”

The mission of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwestern Ohio is to provide quality mentoring relationships between children and qualified adults in Northwestern Ohio, and promote children’s development into competent, confident and caring individuals.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwestern Ohio organizes, under professional direction, mature and responsible individuals to provide, on a volunteer basis, a role model to children who are in need of a wholesome relationship with a positive role model; and thus, to provide companionship and guidance to such children and, to help assure their proper moral, psychological, intellectual, vocational and physical development.

Once adequate resource streams open up, it is the desire of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwestern Ohio to once again provide one-to-one mentoring services in Fulton and Williams county areas. In the interim, please keep Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwestern Ohio in mind should the need arise.
