LIMA — Virginia Lee Nichols, of Lima, will celebrate her 90th birthday Nov. 27, 2013. A private party is planned.
She was born Nov. 27, 1923 in Ogden, Utah to Lewis and Pauline (Tuttle) Wheeler. She married Henry Nichols in 1949, and he died May 4, 1990.
Nichols has seven children, David (Vicki) Nichols, of Largo, Fla., Bill Nichols of Fla., Sue Ball, of Toledo, June (Kevin) Sneary, Judy Sneary, Penny Crowe and Dale Nichols, all of Lima. One son, Matthew Nichols, died at birth. She has 16 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She worked as a nurse in various nursing homes and as a home care nurse. She volunteered at Lima Memorial Hospital.
Nichols is a Christian and loves to talk about our Lord Jesus Christ. She is a member of First Missionary Church, on Robb Ave.
She enjoys traveling and her favorite trip was with a church group to Russia in her early 80’s. She collected owls and Beanie Babies and loves to play cards and spend time with her family and friends.
