LIMA — When Allen County Republicans kick off the start of their reelection efforts for the November campaign, the top man in their party will be in town to help.
Local GOP Chairman Keith Cheney announced Friday Ohio Gov. John Kasich will be in town for the Aug. 8 event scheduled for 11:30 a.m. at Wannemacher Total Logistics at 400 E. Hanthorn Road. The governor will address the crowd at noon, Cheney said.
“We’re anxiously waiting the governor’s message on job creation in Ohio,” Cheney said.
Kasich and local Republicans intentionally chose Wannemacher as the site to highlight the governor’s job growth success as well as a local business that has been successful in creating and maintaining jobs, Cheney said.
Kasich is expected to talk about job growth in the state as well as his plans to continue growing jobs, Cheney said.
The event is free to the public but people must obtain tickets to get in the door. There is a limited number of tickets, Cheney said.
Tickets can be obtained by calling the local Republican Party at 419-331-5655, in person at the office at 3111 W. Elm St., or by sending an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Cheney said Kasich is a popular choice, so he advises people who want to see him to obtain tickets immediately. Cheney would not say how many tickets will be available but said the venue will be small enough people should get a chance to meet Kasich, as well.
