2 infants hospitalized with flu in Allen County

LIMA — Allen County had two cases of infants hospitalized because of influenza in October, prompting the Allen County Health Department to remind residents to get a flu shot.

The Center for Disease Control recommends that everyone 6 months of age or older receive a flu shot. The vaccine will be available at the Allen County Health Department from 8 to 9 a.m. and 3 to 4 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays or by appointment. The cost for the shot is $30 and can be paid with cash or check. The vaccine is also covered by Medicare/Medicaid, Anthem and Medical Mutual insurance plans. No one will be turned away for inability to pay.
