A 26-year-old Amherst man was attacked Nov. 4 outside the Amherst Party Shop, according to police.

He told officers he was walking to the store from his car on Tenney Avenue when someone hit him from behind.

The victim was hit in the face and knocked to the ground, where he remained unconscious for about 10 minutes due to blunt impact trauma.

When he awoke, the victim’s wallet was missing and he went to the Party Shop to call for help.

Police Lt. Dan Jasinski said police have been dealing with a lot of reported thefts lately. Most are linked to drugs, he suspects.

A white man in his 40s was spotted Oct. 19 trying to break into a North Main Street garage. Chainsaws, a leaf blower, pressure washer, and DVD player were discovered missing from a neighbor’s garage, but were dropped by the thief.

Other break-ins were reported in late October on Millstone Lane, North Ridge Road, and Linn Road, where a 5,500-watt generator was taken from a front porch.

Police rushed to the scene of a potential assault Oct. 30 at Dollar General on Cooper Foster Park Road to find a three women fleeing in a car.

Courtney Molina, 19, Deaja Jones, 19, and Mariah Perry, 20, all of Lorain, were charged with theft.

Pills were taken from another Linn Road residence on Nov. 2, and police were flagged down by a home construction manager Nov. 4 on West Pointe Drive where appliances were stolen.
