MOUNT CORY — A teenage girl was hospitalized after losing control of her car early Sunday.

Shortly after midnight, Allyson Wolfarth, 16, of Bluffton, was driving a 1999 Ford Escort on county Road 313 following several friends in other vehicles. As Wolfarth attempted to pass the lead vehicle just west of county Road 12, she lost control and slid across the westbound lane, striking an American Electric Power utility pole on the passenger side. The vehicle then came to rest in a field.

Wolfarth was taken to Blanchard Valley Hospital, where her condition was unavailable late Sunday.

Wolfarth was cited for reckless operation of a motor vehicle, prohibited driving hours, and failure to wear a seat belt.
