Preservation Parks naturalists will describe how to add plants to landscapes that will attract birds and butterflies and provide food sources for them. “Native Gardens” will be held Saturday, Feb. 1, 9 to 11 a.m. at Deer Haven Preserve, 4183 Liberty Road. There is a $5 materials fee, and registration is required by Jan. 24.

Participants will learn which plants are best suited for their particular growing conditions, and should bring a drawing or blueprint of their yards. They will leave with a garden plan. Breakfast is included, and children are welcome to accompany their parents.

Registration requests should be sent to register@preservationparks.com, or called in to 740-524-8600, ext. 3.
