LIMA — The Lima/Allen County Chamber of Commerce will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony at 4:30 p.m. July 24 at Yazel’s Flowers & Gifts, 1514 Allentown Rd., as the business celebrates a change of ownership.
Sisters Jodie Sutherland and Brenda Barnett have teamed up to run the floral shop, which has been open since 1945. In addition to the ribbon cutting ceremony, Yazel’s will be holding an open house from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. July 24, with music, food, wine and giveaways scheduled from 4:30 to 7 p.m.
Job and Internship Fair scheduled
LIMA — Businesses will have a chance to promote themselves with students in September.
The Lima Campus Fall & Internship Fair is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Cook Hall Gym at the Ohio State University-Rhodes State College shared campus. Interested businesses should register online at http://bit.ly/1n3JMh1 before Sept. 11.

Honda begins Acura TLX production
MARYSVILLE — Honda of America celebrated the production of its new 2015 Acura TLX performance luxury sedan on Monday.
The plant was designed, developed and engineered in Ohio and Los Angeles. It will be exclusively manufactured in Ohio, and it is scheduled to be at dealerships in August.
HVAC classed planned at Rhodes
LIMA — Rhodes State College, the West Central Ohio Manufacturing Consortium and Northwest Ohio Manufacturing Extension Partnership will offer a one day a week course on HVAC fundamentals from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays Sept. 2 through Dec. 16. There is a discount for employees of WCOMC members.

Lean training planned
LIMA — Rhodes State College, the West Central Ohio Manufacturing Consortium and Northwest Ohio Manufacturing Extension Partnership will offer introductory and advanced Lean training this fall.
The introductory training runs Sept. 10 (Lean beginnings), Oct. 8 (Lean events), Nov. 12 (Kaizen event) and Dec. 10 (value stream mapping).
The advanced training runs 8 a.m. to noon on Oct. 1 (defining projects) and 15 (establishing metrics) and Nov. 5 (analyzing data) and 19 (improving and controlling results).
