Competing against 26 other contestants from across the country isn’t easy but one Lorain County Joint Vocational School Adult Career Center student proved her skills.

Jamie Dulemba-Bealer of Wellington took fourth place in June at the SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Confrence Kansas City, Mo.

“We are so very proud of her,” JVS cosmetology instructor Tina McCullough said. “She did extremely well — only missing a bronze medal by one point. She is our champion.”

Dulemba-Bealer encourages all students to take part in the national competition to hone their skills.

“It was a great learning experience,” she said.
