LIMA - Bond was set at $1 million today for a man charged with helping another man shoot and kill a woman on West Market Street last month.

Davarus E. Callahan, 22, of Lima, appeared at a bond hearing at Lima Municipal Court. His preliminary hearing was set for May 22.

Meanwhile, another man, Ronnie E. Irons, 21, appeared at a bond hearing after Callahan. Irons' bond was set at $500,000 on a robbery charge. He has a preliminary hearing scheduled for May 23.

Irons was arrested Wednesday evening.

Two other men have been charged in the April 29 slaying of Wendy Westergaard, 38, in front of St. Rita's Medical Center on West Market Street. Those men are Tony D. Curtis Jr., 20, of Lima, charged with murder, and Durelle Grant, 19, of Lima, charged with robbery.

Police have said Westergaard was not the target of the shooting. She was driving her Jeep Grand Cherokee when a van pulled alongside her and someone from inside began firing, striking her once. Grant was a passenger in her vehicle. He was not hit. He ran away after Westergaard crashed her vehicle.

Police said Curtis was the shooter.
