The driver of the commercial vehicle was able to get out before the cab was destroyed and only suffered a minor head wound. Both drivers were transported to Lima Memorial Health System. Josh Mandel, Ohio Treasurer, toured Shawnee High School and discussed the school district's nearly $6 million investment in the office's STAR plus program. Through the program, districts make an initial cash investment in hopes of yielding additional funds through the treasurer's office.
