ARLINGTON - A Findlay man apparently fell asleep at the wheel and crashed his car into a South Main Street home early this morning.

According to the Hancock County Sheriff's Office, 34-year-old Joseph Ludwig, of Findlay, traveled north on South Main Street, just north of Waterloo Drive, when he lost control of his 1992 Chevy Cavalier at approximately 2 a.m. Wednesday morning. His vehicle struck a house at 518 S. Main St., Arlington.

Deputy Mark Price of the sheriff's office reported Ludwig apparently fell asleep and awoke to find his vehicle traveling off the east side of South Main Street. Ludwig then over-corrected, cutting through a yard at 522 S. Main St. and striking a light post.

Ludwig's Cavalier rolled into a 1995 Pontiac parked in the driveway at 518 S. Main St., bouncing off the parked car and rolling one and a half times before resting on its top, against the garage door at the home.

No one inside the residence was injured.

Though little damage was done to the residence, Ludwig's vehicle sustained severe damage as a result of the crash. The 1992 Chevy Cavalier was towed from the scene.

Members of the Appleseed EMS and Arlington Fire Department removed Ludwig from his vehicle, with Appleseed EMS transporting him to Blanchard Valley Hospital in Findlay. The accident remains under investigation.
