1. TOLEDO CENTRAL CATHOLIC. Quarterback DeShone Kizer has moved on to Notre Dame, but Central Catholic has five first-team All-TRAC players returning.

2. TOLEDO WHITMER. The Panthers have been in the playoffs seven of the last eight years and tied Central Catholic for first in the TRAC coaches preseason poll.

3. TOLEDO ST. FRANCIS. Tailback Lamar Carswell is coming off a season when he rushed for 1,248 yards, including a monster 405-yard game against Lima Senior. The Knights will ride him as far as he can take them.

4. LIMA SENIOR. The Spartans’ strength is an impressive group of fast receivers and running backs. If they find a quarterback and tighten up the defense, they could improve on last year’s 5-5 record.

5. FREMONT ROSS. Former Cincinnati Bengals receiver Craig Yeast will take over as head coach after Ross went 5-5 in Derek Kidwell’s final season last fall.

6. TOLEDO ST. JOHN. The top college prospect for the Titans is center Sean Rattay. They need to find some players at the skill positions.

7. FINDLAY. The Trojans dropped to 2-8 after going 8-2 in 2012. A solid core of offensive players, led by quarterback Brandon Muehl, running back Emanual Mogalu and receiver Grant Niswander could make them better this year.

8. OREGON CLAY. Last year, one coach didn’t vote Lima Senior last in the TRAC preseason poll and gave his vote to Clay. This year the Eagles were a unanimous last place selection.
