COLUMBUS GROVE — Laura Merrifield Sojka and Thomas Free Albright were married Aug. 10, 2013, at Old Calvary Church, in Sandusky, by the Rev. Rebecca Michelfelder.
The bride is the daughter of Dr. Gregory and Dr. Jane Sojka, of Cincinnati. Her grandparents are Kent and Edith Ziegler, of Columbus, IN and the late Stanley and Frances Sojka, of Niagra Falls, NY.
The groom is the son of the late Jack Albright and Nancy and Keith Sparks, of Columbus Grove. His grandparents are Elaine and the late David Schroeder of Columbus Grove and the late Charles and Peg Albright of Van Wert.
The bride was escorted by her father, Dr. Gregory Sojka.
She wore a cream Alencon lace gown accented with pearls and beading at the empire waist with a deep v-back and sweep train. She wore the groom’s maternal grandmother’s wedding veil of petite illusion. The bride carried a bouquet of dahlias, daisies and roses.
The bridesmaids were the sisters of the bride, Annie Sojka, of Boston, MA and Joanie Sojka, of Plano, Texas. They wore sea foam green lace dresses with cream colored sashes.
The flower girl was the bride’s cousin, Emma Jane Edwards, of Columbus, IN. She wore a cream lace dress with a sea foam green sash.
The best man was the groom’s brother, Chip Albright, of Athens, OH.
A reception was held following the ceremony at the Battery Park Marina, on Lake Erie.
The bride is a graduate of the University of Alabama and Ohio University. She teaches Political Science at the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa, AL.
The groom graduated from The Ohio State University and Ohio University. He teaches American and World History at Sumter Central High School, in Livingston, AL.
The couple reside in Green Co., Alabama.
