LIMA - City Council will see and hear about a new brochure Monday created by economic officials touting the benefits of adding to the local automotive industry.

The Lima Automotive Task Force and Allen Economic Development Group produced a brochure based on an industry research paper titled "Why North," pushing the benefits of locating automotive business in northern states.

Development group Vice President Kristi Clouse will present the brochure, developed with input from task force members representing her group, Lima/Allen County Chamber of Commerce, the city of Lima, Allen County, Bath Township, the Ohio Department of Development, Ford Motor Co. and the United Auto Workers.

"It talks about why things are vibrant in the automotive industry here, why it's a good idea to reinvest, invest or locate in Lima and Allen County," Clouse said.

The brochure focuses on technology connectivity and the area's labor, education and transportation. The chamber and the development group will use it at trade shows.

In other business, council will:

Vote on a labor contract between the city and Fraternal Order of Police, representing sergeants and lieutenants in the Police Department.

Hear from city consultant Chief Joseph E. Thomas Jr. on a series of community roundtables done seeking residents' input about improving the Police Department.

Hear from the Rev. Daniel Hughes about a Juneteenth festival.

Hear from Chief of Staff Catherine Garlock about the end of Weed and Seed programs and Public Works Director Howard Elstro about construction projects.
