LIMA — Job fairs in Allen and Auglaize counties were held Thursday and attracted several companies looking to fill positions.

In Allen County, Patrick Staffing held a job fair at 200 N. Metcalf St., seeking applicants for industrial, manufacturing, clerical and warehouse positions.

The Wapakoneta Area Chamber of Commerce held a job fair at Easy Campground on U.S. 33 between St. Marys and Wapakoneta.

Sixteen local employers and employment services participated. The event was free and open to the public.

Dan Graf, the executive director for the Wapakoneta Area Chamber of Commerce, said there are numerous career opportunities going unfilled in the area.

“We are working with our local employers to help them tap into our local workforce,” Graf said.

Several large employers — such as Crown Equipment, AAP, Setex, Area Energy & Electric, American Trim and Wapak Manor — were present.

A representative from Wright State University Lake Campus was there, along with a representative from the West Central Ohio Workforce Development Initiative. The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services also offered its resources.
