KALIDA The Ohio State Highway Patrol's Lima post investigated a fatal auto wreck Thursday west of Kalida.The wreck occurred at 6:14 p.m. on Road M just east of state Route 634 in Putnam County's Jackson Township, post Commander Lt. Brandt Zemelka said in a news release.Troopers said the eastbound vehicle went off the right side of the road and struck a cement culvert. The driver was trapped, crews used mechanical means to free him.After being freed, Kalida EMS transported the driver to the Putnam County Ambulatory Care Center in Glandorf, where he died from his injuries, troopers said. The driver's identity was not released Thursday.
