WASHINGTON, D.C. — Lima Fire Department has been awarded more than $88,000 in federal money for protective equipment, vehicles and gear.

Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, said the money comes from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency Assistance to Firefighters Grantsprogram.

“Our first responders put their lives on the line every day across Ohio,” Brown said. “These funds ensure that firefighters in Lima have the resources they need to perform their jobs safely.”
