Girl, 9, struck by vehicle in Lima

LIMA — A 9-year-old girl was struck by a Jeep on Tuesday afternoon after the girl walked in front of the moving vehicle.



The incident occurred at the intersection of South Pine and East Kibby streets, when Willie Lighton, 60, of Toledo, accidentally hit the girl as he was turning at the green light. Lima Police Department was called to the scene at 3:34 p.m. Tuesday.



The girl was taken to Lima Memorial Health System by Lima Fire Department. Police said she suffered “moderate injuries.”
