Two girls arrested for possession of Ecstasy in Lima

LIMA - Two 17-year-old girls were arrested for possession of Ecstasy pills near Lima on Monday night, according to the Lima post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.



The women, whose names are not being released, were stopped in a 1993 Mercury Grand Marquis with Ohio registration for a turn signal violation on Eureka Street, near McPherson Avenue, in Lima at 11:08 p.m. Monday.



Troopers reported criminal indicators were observed, and an Allen County Sheriff’s Office drug-sniffing canine alerted to the car. A probable cause search revealed Ecstasy pills in the car.



The driver, of Detroit, was charged with possession of a Schedule I substance, a third-degree felony. If convicted, she could face up to five years in prison and a $10,000 fine.



The passenger, of Lima, was charged with possession of a Schedule I substance, a fifth-degree felony. If convicted, she could face up to one year in prison and a $2,500 fine.



Both women were taken to the Allen County Juvenile Detention Center.
