LIMA — From heavy-duty rolling shelving to checkout lanes to bicycle seats and extension cords, the contents of the former North Cable Road Walmart store are up for bid.Bidders can inspect the wares from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today at the store at 975 N. Cable Road. The auction is online only at Fast Track Auction, http://bidfta.com, and ends Thursday.Apparently Fast Track isn't allowed to say Walmart, because they list the store as the “World's Largest Retailer.”The auction includes all manner of shelving, clothing racks, cart corrals, desk fans and personal heaters, hand and power tools, chairs, tables, a coffee maker, bucket ringer and mop and handcarts, among a host of other items from the store. The North Cable Road Walmart closed in June the night before the company opened a new stand-alone 154,000-square-foot Supercenter on Allentown Road. The space in the Clocktower Plaza remains vacant and for sale, with papered windows and neon signs telling customers about the move. You can comment on this story at www.limaohio.com.
