LIMA - The city of Lima will delay a planned West Street and Elizabeth Street streetscape road construction project because bid prices didn't match expectations.
The project was to begin in July, Public Works Director Howard Elstro said. However, the city received a single bid that was 38 percent above the engineer’s estimate. The project will be rebid later this fall, and construction will begin in April 2014.
The project includes removal and replacement of portions of curbs, drainage improvements, resurfacing, signal and lighting improvements, dedicated bike lanes, pedestrian improvements and landscaping. For information about the project, contact City Engineer Kirk Niemeyer at 419-998-5508.
