Elida police find 29 pounds of marijuana

ELIDA The Elida Police Department recovered nearly 29 pounds of marijuana and equipment used to cultivate marijuana during an April 25 raid, the department announced Thursday in a press release.Officials were made aware of an alleged marijuana cultivation house at 201 Sunnydale, Elida. After a short-term investigation, they executed a search warrant at 4:45 p.m. April 25.Officers also shot two pit bulls, who charged at the officers, according to the press release. Two people were inside the residence when the warrant was served. Officers charged the man, who they did not identify, with cultivation of marijuana. The female was released.The West Central Ohio Crime Task Force and the Allen County Sheriff's Office SWAT team helped with the search warrant.
