LIMA - Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers were at the scene of multiple crashes on Interstate 75 Monday morning when yet another accident occurred from the backed-up traffic.

Traffic southbound on I 75, south of State Route 65, was stopped in both lanes around 8:30 a.m. while troopers dealt with car accidents on the highway.

Nathan Park, 34, of Highland, Mich., driving a semi truck, was driving on the highway in the right lane when he failed to see the stopped traffic. As a result, he swerved to the right, striking a guardrail and causing a steel coil to crash onto the southbound ramp from State Route 65. Park then struck the rear corner of a trailer, driven by Ralph Coleman Jr., 49, of Willoughby. Park was ejected from the semi, where it rolled over and came to rest on a guardrail.

A trooper found Park unconscious with serious injuries underneath a semi trailer. Troopers performed first aid until the Lima Fire Department arrived on scene and transported Park to Lima Memorial Health System. Park was then taken to The Toledo Hospital by medical helicopter, where he was in critical condition Monday afternoon.
