VAN WERT - The Van Wert Police Department continues to investigate a fatal accident that happened Friday night in the 800 block of North Washington Street. At 6:49 p.m. police and firefighters responded to a two-vehicle accident. The occupants of one vehicle, Ronald L. Braun, 63 and Jacquelyn S. Braun, 57, formerly of Van Wert had serious injuries. Jacquelyn S. Braun was pronounced dead shortly after her arrival at the Van Wert County Hospital emergency room. The Braun's recently moved to Sebring, Fla., from their home on Elm Street in Van Wert.At the time of the accident, the Braun's were northbound and the other vehicle, a 1998 Plymouth Voyager driven by Roginadon M. Wilkinson-Workman, 34, of Van Wert, was southbound. Witnesses said the van suddenly veered left of center into the northbound and struck the 1995 Buick occupied by the Braun's. The collision caused the Braun's vehicle to spin counter-clockwise and it came to a rest in the front yard of 872 N. Washington St. The Workman vehicle came to rest in the center turn lane of the roadway.Based on information from other occupants of the van, and subsequent medical treatment Wilkinson-Workman received, police are investigating the possibility that she may have had a pre-existing medical condition she was unaware of that may have contributed to this accident. Mrs. Workman was transferred to Parkview Memorial Hospital in Fort Wayne, Ind. †The Van Wert Police Department is continuing the investigation into this accident and awaiting the cause of death for Mrs. Braun to be determined by the Van Wert County Coronerís Office.
