The Van Wert County Ohio State University Extension has selected a new economic development director, Cynthia Leis.
Leis worked as a senior business consult with the Manufacturing Advocacy and Growth Network for 17 years, and she has been a professor at the University of Northwestern Ohio for the past two years. During that time, she collaborated with businesses, universities and other economic development directors to promote growth in the manufacturing community.
“I look forward to my role as an educator, collaborator and creator of new opportunities for businesses to locate within the county as well as retain and grow the business base,” Leis said in a press release.
Leis is a graduate of Bluffton University and Tiffin University, where she earned her MBA. She and her husband, Mike, live in Delphos with their three children.
