Motorcyclist spills, ruled dead at scene

SPENCERVILLEA 51-year-old motorcyclist from the Mendon area lost control of his bike Sunday evening and crashed on a curve, the Ohio State Highway Patrol said.The accident happened on state Route 197 near Fort Amanda Road in Logan Township, between the settlements of Buckland and Kossuth, said Trooper Kyle Baxter of the patrol’s Wapakoneta post.The westbound motorcyclist apparently lost control of his bike while attempting to negotiate a curve, Baxter said. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Auglaize County assistant coroner.The name of the motorcyclist was being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
