LIMA -- City Council passed a resolution Monday honoring Kewpee as one of Nation’s Restaurant News’ Top 50 American Icon Restaurants.
As Kewpee owner Harry Shutt made his way to accept a copy of the resolution, City Council members and Mayor David Berger donned paper hamburger flipper hats and led a standing ovation for Shutt and his family.
Shutt said days like this remind him why he loves his job and company, and said in the 82 years of Kewpee’s existence, it has employed countless people.
