CELINA - Mercer County Sheriff Jeff Grey said the U.S. Marshal’s Office and Fort Wayne Police are assisting in efforts to locate Daniel C. Martin, 40, wanted on suspicion of murder in the shooting death of Melinda S. Shinn, 26, in Rockford on Thursday.

Martin’s vehicle was located in Fort Wayne, but he has yet to be captured, Grey said. Martin, who was Shinn’s boyfriend, allegedly shot Shinn inside their home at 509 North St., Rockford, on Thursday morning.

Martin should be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information on Martin’s whereabouts should call their local law enforcement agency or the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office at 419-586-7724.
