LIMA — Two men labeled last week as “people of interest” in the shooting death of a man are now murder defendants.
Randell Howard Jr., 19, and Mikel Johnson, 18, both were charged with murder Monday in the slaying of Joshua Davenport a week ago.
The men were under investigation for the June 24 slaying of the 20-year-old Davenport. Davenport was shot multiple times and died. Police were called to the 700 block of Albert Street at 5:30 a.m. over shots fired.
Davenport was found in a nearby alleyway. He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The men were expected to appear in court at a hearing in the next few days.
