LIMA The monthly Allen Metropolitan Housing Authority board meeting Tuesday was mostly business as usual, despite executive director Anna Schnippels court appearance that wrapped up the same afternoon.

Housing authority leaders said things are going well financially and operationally and have introduced new employees to the staff.

Operation wise, everything is going well at the housing authority. We just passed our REAC (Real Estate Assessment Center) inspection. And what that is, is thats an inspection required by HUD of our public housing units. We have 247 units. They inspected 24 of those units, and we passed that inspection, said Tiffany Wright, housing authority assistant director. Were fully staffed here at the housing authority and were at a 99 percent occupancy rate for public housing. And everythings gone well.

While the housing authority is facing a 6 percent cut in program funds because of sequestration, theyre already working with some solutions to remedy that.

We have some carryover and reserves that we can dip into as needed, Wright said.

The board went into executive session for about a half hour regarding legal issues before adjourning.
